WinCo $5 Bargain Meals - all ingredients purchased at WinCo Foods

I am happy to participate in the $5dollar dinners Bargain Meal of the Week.

Meal #1 Cheesy Chicken Italiano (serves 4)

Ingredients:
3 cups rotini pasta $1.00 1lb
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.) $2.68
1 jar (14 oz.) spaghetti sauce Hy-Top $.56 (1/2 of a 260z can)
6 oz. VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes$.62

COOK pasta as directed on package.

MEANWHILE, heat large skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 2 min. on each side. Add sauce; cover. Simmer on low heat 10 min. or until chicken is done (165ºF). Add VELVEETA; cook and stir until melted.

DRAIN pasta; top with chicken and sauce.

Total $4.68

Meal # 2 Easy Baked Pork Chops (serves 4 to 6)

Ingredients:
4-6 boneless pork loin chops (filet on sale) $1.68lb
1 can cream of mushroom soup $.78
1 can of water
1 package of onion soup mix $.57

Preheat oven to 350. Place chops in baking dish. In bowl, combine soups with water. Pour mixture over chops.

Cover with foil and bake for 30-45 minutes, depending on thickness of chops.

This dish creates its on gravy so serve it with rice for an additional ~$.50

Total $3.53 with the rice. You will have enough money to add a salad.

To make these delicious dishes even simplier I would #1 put the chicken and the spaght sauce in a crockpot to cook during the day adding the cheese about 30 minutes before serving then serve over pasta with a side of green beans and #2 put the chops, soup, water and onion mix also in the CP and cook thru the day to serve over some rice with a chopped green salad on the side. the dishes sound great and will be adding them to my menu this month!
