Bargain Meal - Biscuit Pizzas

What should you do with those Pillsbury Grand biscuits that you purchased on sale? Make Pizza!

Separate the biscuits, then flatten them out as much as you can. They will puff up when they cook. Put them on a baking dish, spread pizza sauce on them (about 1 1/2 tablespoons), top with your favorite toppings. Bake 350 until golden color around the edges.

As you can see a few pizzas disappeared before I could take the picture. One roll of biscuits makes 8 minis pizzas. They were so good!

Total cost for these pepperoni pizzas was about $3 and it with a side salad and it's a fun tasty dinner.

Also good on English muffins.

Another idea: Individual pot pies in large muffin pans.

One can of cream of "whatever" soup (mushroom, chicken, broccoli, cheese). Left over chicken (breast, thighs), cut into pieces. A package of frozen veggies. Mix together.

Take one biscuit and slice it in half. Place half on the bottom of the muffin pan. Place enough chicken mixture into the muffin pan, top with second slice of dough. Bake until golden. Cost should be under $5 to feed a family of 8.

I like that idea. That would be a great idea with leftovers; make mini pot pies with it.

Thanks for reminding me about these. We haven't had these in a long time.

Oh, just thought of something else. I always make "ham sandwiches" in my little sandwich maker with these. You have to watch it carefully otherwise it can burn easily.

All kinds of things to make with the Grand biscuits really...

Same idea as with the mini pot pies... Do it with scrambled eggs that are slightly under cooked so it's a bit watery and bake. The eggs will finish cooking inside the dough and you'll have your own version of an "egg biscuit" (add ham and cheese if you like).

My kids actually like the egg sandwich one for breakfast but I need a second sandwich press (cheap @ Walgreens - $6.99 to $9.99) because it only make "two" sandwiches (four pieces).
