$5 Meals (or under) for a family of 4, purchased at WinCo Foods

I am happy to participate in the $5dollar dinners Bargain Meal of the Week.

Ingredients were all purchased at WinCo Foods.

Meal #1
Stove Top and Roasted Turkey Sandwich

Ingredients:
1 package 6oz Stove Top Cranberry Stuffing Mix (use Turkey if you can't find Cranberry) $1.00
4 slices bread $.20 ( I used sour dough bread)
1 lb Turkey Breast cut into 12 slices (Foster Farms lunch meat) $1.98
1 cup hot gravy (Campbell's canned) $1.14

Prepare stuffing as directed on package; set aside. Arrange 1 bread slice on 4 individual plates. Top each with 3 turkey slices, 3/4 cup hot stuffing and 1/4 cup gravy. Microwave each sandwich on high 30 seconds.

Total: $4.32 add a can of green beans for $.58 total will be $4.90


Meal #2
Alamo Tamale Supper (crock pot)

Ingredients:
2 15oz cans of beef Tamales $.98 each
1 medium onion, finely chopped $.48
1 8oz can of corn, drained $.58
1 8oz can tomato sauce (Hy-top) $.27
1 tsp chili powder ~$.10
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (Hy-Top) $.60
1/4 cup sliced ripe olives (Lindsay) $.44

Slice tamales in half crosswise and arrange in the bottom of greased crock-pot. Sprinkle chopped onions over tamales. Add corn. Mix tomato sauce and chili powder; pour into Crock-pot. Top with cheese and sprinkle with olives. Cover and cook on low setting for 5 to 7 hours or on high setting for 2 hours. Serve with Sour cream if desired.

Total: $4.43
