I am happy to participate in the $5dollar dinners Bargain Meal of the Week.
Ingredients were all purchased at WinCo Foods (Thursday August 20th)
8oz spaghetti, cooked, drained (Ronzoni $1.18lb) $.59
1 egg, beaten $.10
1/4 cup milk $.03
3/4 lb ground beef $1.50
1 can 14oz tomato sauce $.48 (Hy-Top brand)
1 envelope Good seasons Garlic & Herb or Italian salad dressing mix $1.08
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese $.71 (Hy-Top brand)
Toss spaghetti, egg, and milk in large bowl. Spread evenly in greased 12 inch pizza pan.
Brown meat in medium skillet; drain. Stir in tomato sauce and salad dressing mix. Spoon over spaghetti crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 350 for 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Total $4.01 add garlic bread or Texas Toast for about $1.50 more. You can also add other ingredients to the pizza and still keep your meal a $5 meal.
Hamburger Patties in Mushroom Soup
1 lb ground beef $1.98
1 can cream of mushroom soup $.78 (Hy-Top brand)
1 med onion chopped $.35
1/2 tsp basil leaves
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cup water
~$.50 for seasonings
Make ground beef into patties, fry until they are brown on the outside, if the inside is pink that's okay. Place in baking dish; sprinkle on seasonings and onions. Combine soup and water; pour over patties. Bake at 375 degrees or 20 minutes.
Total $3.61 serve with homemade mashed potatoes for ~$1.25 or over rice for about $1.50 more.
