Winco Double Coupons 10/13/14

It's a challenge when you live in the Land of No Doubles (LND) but here's a way you can double up.

Use your printable coupons from Coupons.com and then also claim the products with the SavingStar app (you will need a smart phone/Android or IPad - I use an IPad), almost every time SavingStar will give you the same credit as your coupons.

I also use savings apps from Ibotta , Checkout 51 , and Shopmium.

Here are some Double Coupons using printable coupons and the SavingStar app at WinCo in Richland (price varies from store to store but should be close to this). You may also have some coupons you have clipped from Sunday's paper, such as the Ziploc bags, Totino's pizza, and Hamburger Helper.

Budget Meals at WinCo

Using your $1/1 coupon from coupons.com or the Sunday paper you can pick up Eckrich sausage for only $.98 at WinCo.

I purchased four of these packs, an onion, and two peppers, we put them on skewers and grilled them.  We also added corn to the meal. With my double coupon method we picked up 2 packages of Pillsbury cookie dough for $1.28 each and we baked one package for dessert. So for about $7 we fed a family of 4 (with a little left for a lunch the next day) with dessert.

Meals on a Budget

When buying meat really pay close attention to those "special" deals.  Like those Albertson's B1G1 deals.  If you look at the price per pound it's sometimes $7-$9 a pound and when you have a B1G1 that still isn't a great deal. I look for prices that work out to $2-$3 a pound. That being said I picked up some seasoned pork chops that were B1G2 so I ended up with three packs for about $11, added green beans and a salad to create a family meal for around $15.

Our Safeway is great for their discount meat section were I will find steaks for 30% off so I can normally pick up a steak or two for around $3.  Sometimes I may only get one or two but I freeze them until I have enough steaks for the whole family.

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Since chicken was on sale at Albertson's this week and I have pasta and sauce from previous weeks - this is a perfect recipe to use. I also purchase Mozzarella since I received $2 from Ibotta. Cook fabulous at a low cost.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Parmesan with Penne Pasta
Slow Cook Chicken Parmesan from Betty Crocker
1 egg
1/3 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/4 lb)
1 jar (26 oz) tomato pasta sauce
1/2 cup shredded Italian cheese blend (2 oz)
2 2/3 cups uncooked penne pasta (8 oz)

  • Spray 2- to 3-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • In small shallow bowl, beat egg until foamy. In separate shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Dip chicken into egg, then coat evenly with bread crumb mixture; place in cooker. Spread pasta sauce evenly over chicken.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 5 to 6 hours.
  • Sprinkle Italian cheese blend over top. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 10 minutes longer. Meanwhile, cook and drain pasta as directed on package. Serve chicken with pasta.

Weight Watchers Tuna Cakes

With the great deal on the tuna pouches I purchased here's a nice recipe for tuna cakes, which I love. I add a little season salt also.

Weight Watchers Tuna Cakes from Coffee Cake and Cardio/Pinterest

All you have to do is combine the following…
2 cans of tuna (drained)
2 tbsp deli mustard
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1/3 cup of panko bread crumbs (add more if you need to thicken the patties)
garlic powder

season salt
Split the mixture into two and form into patties.  Cook the patties on medium heat in a pan with 2 tsp of olive oil for 10 minutes, flipping once halfway through.  I served the patties (4PP) with wilted spinach and Trader Joe’s Roasted Potatoes.  The whole dinner came out to 10PP.

Slow Cooker Stew Meat

Thank you to my Facebook Just Recipes sight. I love using the slow cooker. You could pour over mashed potatoes, rice, biscuits, etc.
